Samsung D8000 series first impression

At the CES in Las Vegas, Nevada, Samsung presented 2011 flagship series of HDTVs, the D8000. While there will be a plasma model, too, the most interesting one is certainly the new and revamped 55-Inch D8000 LED, the model number will probably be UN55D8000.

In comparison to the UN55C8000 from 2010, there will be several improvements:

• Even better noise and crosstalk reduction.
• LED Edge-lit LCD screen with the new and smarter “Micro Dimming“.
• Ultra slim with 0.2 inches and an almost invisible bezel.
• “Smart TV” technology with VOD, 3D Video-On-Demand and other internet driven “smart” applications.
• “Smart Hub” interface for managing all media in your home network.
• Very stylish new touchscreen remote.

The release will be in early 2011, probably before the summer, but no exact date was given so far. We’ll keep you informed!
